In principle Outlook Sync Db is compatible to almost any database, because it uses standardized interfaces for database access.

The following interfaces are supported:

.NET database provider

At present the Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5, MySQL, Firebird and Oracle database provider are directly implemented. Further integrations of .NET database providers (e.g. for technology partners) are possible at any time.

OleDb

All OleDb database providers are supported. Access and Excel files (higher than Jet 4.0) are directly configured with the assistant.

ODBC

Using ODBC almost all existing databases can be accessed.

A small selection:

• Pervasive
• Betrieve
• FileMaker
• Paradox
• FoxPro
• Sybase Advantage Database Server
• IBM DB2

For many business solutions (e.g. Lexware) ODBC drivers are available.

Consequently almost all databases can be synchronized with Outlook.
